Basel, Switzerland – April 28 – A busy Sunday for Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry, while weekend visitors mingled with retailers and distributors to enjoy the striking Baselworld fair and the new Gucci stand. Sitting in the lounges, or enjoying Italian coffee at the Gucci café, all appreciated the timepieces and jewelry collection meticulously presented within the displays or towers adorning the three-floor stand.
Particularly the 8-meter wall at the entrance presenting major launches was highly appreciated. Among the novelties, the latest Horsebit Cocktail collection struck the attention of passers-by that took their time to examine the precious gem and diamond setting that Gucci Jewelry has so remarkably mastered over the years.
The main innovation at the Gucci stand this year that struck partnering retailers was the new SUR40 system. Thanks to its collaboration with Samsung Electronics, Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry has eliminated the use of paper and pens to take orders. On a touchscreen table, partners were introduced to the collections, and orders were added directly through the SUR40 software system. All retailers truly enjoyed this innovation that has yet to be equaled.
