Basel, Switzerland – April 29 – The Gucci stand continues striking visitors, retailers, and press with even more technological areas. The digital Shop in Shop – which as of today is present in more than 15 points of sale worldwide – was among the first achievements of the Gucci and Samsung Electronics partnership. Comprising a 60” touchscreen video describing the Gucci icons, and a Samsung tablet enclosed in the shop counter offering a glance at all collections from Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry, as well as in-depth descriptions, the digital Shop in Shop is a true pioneering venture aiming to transform traditional shopping into a multifaceted and innovative experience.

Among the latest launches for Summer 2013 is the Gucci Flora line of sterling silver jewelry for women. The Gucci Flora collection includes a ring, pendant necklace, chain bracelet and earrings, adorned with medallion charms. All these pieces feature the original intricate pattern of butterflies and blooms.

The Flora pattern is among the most loved and collected [“Gucci icons”: http://www.guccitimeless.com/heritage]. The story began in Milan in 1966, when Prince Rainier of Monaco brought his wife to the Gucci boutique. Rodolfo Gucci insisted that Princess Grace choose a gift to accompany the bamboo bag she had purchased. The Princess requested a scarf. Rodolfo felt that the House lacked one sufficiently beautiful for the royal style icon and so he commissioned illustrator Vittorio Accornero to create the most beautiful print he could imagine. Accornero returned with his painting: the “Flora”, a sumptuous, multi-hued, flowered template destined to become a design classic. The design used by Gucci over the years across scarves, handbags and accessories, bursts with color and depicts beautiful seasonal flowers.
